WHY I BUILT COMARA
As a queer woman, I run the same quiet calculations before every trip — is it safe, can I be myself, how much of myself do I leave at home.
I built Comara to relieve myself, and others, of that feeling. A dozen of us, more or less; never more than fourteen - traveling to places I've stood in myself, a table of our people.
Not adapted. Not inclusive. Built for us.

I go first. Always. I scout every destination, walk every route and lead every trip myself.
Never more than fourteen, and often fewer — the house sets the number. Small enough to feel like a dinner party with your closest friends. We stay with women-, queer-, and family-owned hosts.
We go deep, not wide. One place at a time, one anchor a day — sometimes none. Long lunches that turn into afternoons, a communal table, an unhurried week. The point was never to see a place. It's to live in it — together.
